He was born November 29, 1877 at Saint Boniface, Manitoba
In 1912 he took up residence in Edmonton, where he practiced law. In 1920 he was appointed to the Alberta District Court Bench and became stipendiary magistrate for the Northwest Territories. He presided over several cases at Herschel Island. He was Chief Judge of the District Court of Northern Alberta from 1944 to 1948.
He died March 5, 1956 and is buried in the City Cemetery in Edmonton, Alberta.
